In realtà ad essere precisi Solange Piaget Knowles non è proprio nuova nel settore musicale. Ha partecipato ad alcune produzioni delle Destiny's Child, ma ha anche prodotto il suo album da solista "Solo star" ma per "I decided" ha preferito la produzione dei Neptunes, ovvero di Pharrel Williams e il risultato molto ben apprezzato è una conferma della doti del leader dei Neptunes, che ha anche partecipato nella scrittura del brano.
Tratto dal suo secondo album da solista "Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams" questa canzone ha tutte le carte in regola per far prendere quota alla carriera da solista di quest'artista, che non ah nulla da invidiare alle produzioni della sorella maggiore.
