Video | Beyonce "Love on Top"

Beyoncé ha sempre qualcosa di magnetico, mi è sempre molto difficile cambiare canale di fronte lla maggior parte dei suoi video. É davvero una forza della natura, non si può dire il contrario.
La cosa più sorprendente è come riesca a realizzare alcuni video, molto semplici, con una scenografia ridotta al minimo (ricordate "Single Ladies"?) e improntati giusto sulla cantante, sul suo modo di ballare e cantare. "Love on top" è uno di questi, giusto il minimo indispensabile ma con qualche cambio d'abito.
In realtà il focus è giusto metterlo sulla canzone piuttosto che sul video, perché questo singolo è davvero ben fatto, con il suo stile soul/r&b/funk con qualche tocco leggero elettronico (ad esempio il basso che si sente all'inizio). Poi ci pensa Beyoncé con la sua voce a rendere il brano straordinario, incredibilmente potente, quasi da fiatone negli ultimi due minuti, quando ad ogni ritornello cambia chiave per spostarsi sempre più in alto.
Quello che rimne è un piccolo omaggio, secondo la critica, a successi del passato come "You Can't Change That" degli Raydio (1979) e "Mr. Telephone Man" degli New Edition' (1984), gruppo che viene citato anche nel video che riprende l'idea di "If It Isn't Love".
